Can a county ignore federal laws that are believed unconstitutional?
Remember the recent comments from President Obama about needing to quickly initiate new gun control laws? Possibly even though executive order.
That was his response to the recent mass shooting on the campus of Umpqua Community College.
The college is in Coos county, a rural county in Oregon. The 2nd Amendment Preservation Ordinance was just passed by a majority vote and this ordinance prevents any local government funding that support federal or state laws that are unconstitutional.
Being in a liberal state, the people of Coos county claim to be fed up with not having proper representation. This is their way of fighting back.
They are fighting not only for their own liberty but also ours.
